I had actually heard all about this sweet family before we met. I photograph some of their closest friends and throughout the years I had heard stories about their friendship and that they were expecting a little one of their own. It is always so fun to feel like you know a family before you arrive at their home, and to have some similarities to chat about as you get to know each other. Not to mention they were beyond kind, so I think either way we would have become quick friends!
Little Meadow made us work for her pictures, but it was so worth it! I love how many things the Shankin family included in the session that brought out their personalities. Dad loves baseball and mom is part Native American, so including those two aspects of their characters made the session so personalized. And as always, the pups had to jump in for the last few pictures. To be honest, it was seeming like there was no chance we were going to get a picture of everyone looking at me. Meadow was ready to be done, and the dogs were anxious to be up on the bed, but somehow it happened! That last pictures in this post just makes me laugh because if you could have seen the few moments of chaos leading up to it. But it was so worth it!
Shankin Family, thank you so much for inviting me into your home to photograph your sweet, baby Meadow. I hope you are loving every moment with your new bundle of joy!
